AsCi Labs @ Purité Audio

I am sure Ascilab will confirm but due to popular demand the passive A6B ( Purifi woofer and alumina-ceramic tweeter ) is back in the Ascilab line up.

Well, i have lost track of who needs to prove what or even why?

@j_j the original challenge was that if Ascilabs used cheaper drivers than Purifi, they would achieve the same audible result. What do you make of that?

Let's not forget that this is the thread of the English distributor.
Let's not damage Purité Audio sales with all this controversy.
There are already threads open to discuss individual products.
Enjoy your lunch :)
Yeah. Purifi drivers vs good enough can be its own thread.

@Purité Audio Do you also deliver to the EU, ideally either tax-free (to then pay locally) or as a complete service with delivery and local tax included?

Anything outside the UK is vat free 20% but you will probably have to pay your vat.

Good news! Could you or @AsciLab give us details on the price and availability?

More or less the same I believe, Changyeul or Jinsung will confirm .
Keith

Changyeul explained the naming convention a few posts ago.
‘The Ascilab lineup may seem complex, but it can be simply categorized as follows:

There are three product lines: F, C, and S. Each line includes a passive bookshelf speaker and an active cardioid speaker. Additionally, a bass stand will be available to enhance low-frequency extension and improve bass dynamics.’

Followed by; @Purité Audio - I am sure Ascilab will confirm but due to popular demand the passive A6B ( Purifi woofer and alumina-ceramic tweeter ) is back in the Ascilab line up.

My question; Does this mean there are 4 product lines and if yes, where does A6B fit in the F, C, S line-up order? I think would be helpful if @AsciLab could provide (maybe I missed it?) an official cross reference chart of the models and driver combos.

It’s all @phoenixdogfan ‘s fault!
Again Asci should explain their reasoning but it wasn't in the least to try and sell you a more expensive speaker.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Keith! I predict that speaker will wind up being their best seller. So if you and they want to blame me for that, all I can say is I want a ten percent commission. :p

For me, the most fascinating question is the real world listening comparison between the $4,500 S6B (all purifi - non cardioid) and the $4995 C6C (alumina ceramic - cardioid). Do the purifi drivers or the cardioid design deliver a better listening experience? I greatly look forward to future reviews from people who've had the opportunity to listen to both.

It is a good question and I know of only two people who have, listened to both and formed an opinion.

I would say that depends a lot on the listening levels, room acoustics, placement and use or equalisation, as a cardioid is more "plug'n'play" but even without one you can go very far but it takes more effort.

To my ear, Both have different advantages.

For cardioid feature, it produces magical 3D sound imaging that has never heard before.
Comparing to non-cardioid speaker, It sounds like the recording is separated from the room. Room only enhances size of the imaging, but doesn’t smearing or shifting.
Especially depth image is so much improved.
The ambience reverb spreading over the front wall(back of speaker) sounds much more deep.

And for Purifi Tweeter PTT1.3T, it is another league of tweeter. I could hear several hidden sounds from very familiar song. For some of poor recordings, it sounds as it is. But for some of well recorded songs especially by real instruments, the tweeter shows all the details that the song has.

The choice of two products, C6C and S6C can be differed by what you want to listen.

Perhaps for a room which is difficult acoustically the C6C may offer a better experience?
