I'm in the market for a pair of KH150s because of how good they are, but before I replace my Kali LP-6s with them, is there anything even better? I can't actually find anything with better distortion measurements, even options costing multiple times as much.

Better distortion figures at what level?

Jim

I already read those tests and that's why I'm considering them.
Unfortunately, you can't actually buy these right now, which is a non-starter.

I have been reading about these. Would you be kind enough to elaborate why they aren't for sale?

I doubt you'll find much better in that price range.

What about outside that price range? The competition like ATC and Meyer Sound and all the others don't appear to be up to snuff, unless there's a hidden option I haven't seen yet.

Will you be using the Kh150 nearfield?

They will be about .9m away from me at my desk, so it's definitely nearfield. Just so you know, the reason I'm not considering the KH120ii to fill this computer speaker position is because Amir's measurements showed a really funky harmonic plus worse distortion results compared to the KH150.

Is distortion audible on your LP6?

I wouldn't give up on upper tier pro-audio....if you can stand larger speakers.
Bigger boxes can be absolutely loafing at 86dB, and distortion doesn't rise nearly as quicky when SPL is bumped up, compared to smaller boxes.
Here's a DIY live-sound box, made for 100Hz up close to 86dB.

Here's a sub I use with it.
But at 100dB instead of 86dB.

Bigger speakers sweat less :)
