No, it does not have level adjust for each channel (L/R/C etc..) at the inputs.

The input level adjust affects all channels together for the chosen input.
Correct, not at the inputs but you can adjust levels via the webui whilst in use. Alternately, you could set up a speaker profile with selected speakers boosted/cut and create a virtual input with it. IE, blueray movies normal, blueray movies center+3 db

Bumping up the centre is not something I’ve had to do. If you’re spending this kind of money, you would assume you have pretty decent speakers too. If the centre is correctly setup and located I.e not in a cabinet all should be good.
You could always just use night mode for bad recordings.

What if you want to bump up the dialog (the center channel content) on movies, and you're running a phantom center setup? You can't do that on Anthem.

Oh wow so neither Anthem has what the denon x8500h has which is the ability to adjust any speaker up or down anytime you want?
I was wondering about what he said about that too. The fact is, from what I can see, the ability to adjust any speaker level up or down is there. It can be done within ARC G, the app, or the web interface. I do find that with Anthem it could be confusing because depending on where/how it is done, ARC G seems to do something funny whereas others such as Audyssey (x8500h) will just do what you expect, say if you increase the trim level of front left by 1.5 dB, it will just do that and not anything else.

Not tried it ,but if you have no centre then on either unit using night mode would be a simple solution?

I have a question for AVM90 owners. Zone 2 - can it accept digital input and do a D-to-A convert and output to Zone 2 pre-outs, or is it only analogue input for Zone 2? Can the same digital input also be used in the main zone?
My use case is a Blusound Node X streamer. It has digital as well as analogue outs. I want to be able to play it in either main or Zone 2, or both at the same time. Can this be achieved with digital in only, or do I have to use both digital and analogue?

I don't have a 90, and never tried Zone 2 but you got me curious so I thought I would check it out on my 70

Based on the fact that there is selection for digital input, it should be able to do it because whatever the 70 can do, the 90 for sure can.

I use Zone 2 from AVM90 to a Parasound Halo amp for outdoor use:
I recall hooking a NAD M50.1 via optical with no output from zone 2….
I added a DAC and fed analog
I would have to check this ….

That's strange as there's no apparent reason for it to behave like this, I am going to try too, hopefully today.

Thanks, I am impatiently waiting to hear the verdict on this, as it will influence my decision to buy it... or get the Anthem STR stack and continue to use my NAD T778 for movies.

People that are using the AVM90 for stereo as well, how satisifed are you and is it equal or better compared to the STR pre.

I may measure it later today, but for now I am confident it will have output to Zone 2 when using HDMI input, because the owner's manual says so. Anthem's owner's manuals are not as useful as others as it has little info on it compared other's like D+M, Yamaha, Onkyo's, it has only 70 pages that covers all models including the AVR lines, but in this case it does the job okay:

Edit: I did not measure the output but I hooked it up to my nearby preamp/power amp and it worked, just like Zone 1, you can output it to an external amp and use whichever HDMI input you want.

Again, I don't have the luxury to test it on an AVM90, but it works on the 70 so it must also work on the 90.

Thanks, appreciated! However, I decided to go with STR Pre+Amp. Please disregard my requests.

No problem, I didn't see your post until after testing it for you so you now have the info regardless. The STR preamp+amp is nice (imo not a good value because of the price but for sure it is a good performer for 2 Ch), I don't like integrated, to me it is either AVR/AVP or preamp/power amp. So, congrats!

Thanks! I think you misunderstood - I am going with separates: STR Preamplifier and STR Amplifier, not STR Integrated.

Actually, you misunderstood me, I congratulated you for your choice of going separate all the way. If I thought you went with integrate, I would have said nothing.
