I’m looking to purchase a 5.1 processor to replace my anthem AVM 30. I need to move to HDMI.

One feature that I must have, not sure what its technical name is, is the ability to have the HDMI signal go from processor to TV with processor off such that TV can be used without processor on.

Used would be perfectly fine if there’s one that fits this description. Would like to stay under $2k.

Processor only used to watch movies.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that feature is generally referred to as HDMI passthrough. Any modern AVR/AVP should have that feature. More problematic is wanting an AVP for under 2k. It seems like AVPs mostly cater to the high end market and as such, are priced quite high. You might be better off with an AVR that has full pre-outs if you're wanting to use external amplification and want to stay under 2k.

I was thinking that might be the case. It’s unfortunate that not many companies make separates.

You can get an excellent used processor for 2k. There are many groups where people who share enthusiasm for participating brands on Facebook. I enjoy Denon, myself and hope you find something you enjoy.

I wish the manufacturer would make a real avr. The WIIim I bough the other day had a little load impedance on ot but it sounded great. My Gosh, growing up who woul think you could have something the size of a transistor radio play Limelight with a subwoofer and be asked to turn it down.

Thanks. I started looking at used Denon AVR’s. The 6700h looks nice as well as 3600.
