Stupid question:

What is the role of the circuit with the rectifier and power transistor??

What's that PCB on the back of the tweeter? Looks like a signal powered limiter or something?

Also - woofers appear to be the SEAS L18RCY/P or a slightly customized variant. Tweeter I don't know.

Decent enclosure build quality.
But a little stain and rusty on the woofer drivers.
Tweeter? I don’t know what it is.
But the very little chamber is interesting.
Tweeter’s Qtc maybe very high.
And I don’t know what the chips behind the tweeter too.
I measure twice with and without the chipset, but there is no difference on FR.

Interesting. Tweeter is different I think from the Argon3 I reviewed. At least I remember that one having a mud magnet Seas unit.

Their internal reinforcements are illogical to me. They left the baffle centers unsupported (most support is needed there) and support corners of the cabinet (that are rigid as hell since they make L profile).

Not sure how it performs but i'd really like to see an accelerometer attached to the cabinet sides.

I've just looked the same pics on my laptop and i see that my phone plays tricks on me :)
Disregard my post.

I would expect a little bit more effort on the internal dampening for $3000.

Wonder why the inductors have zip ties on the sides, doesn't look like they're secured to anything.

Sticker says D20023, maybe a Scan-Speak variant. Some of their tweeters start with that format. Also interested, especially if it can go low.

I've been looking for details on the tweeter in the Amphion monitors as I bought a pair of their 1999 Helium+ HiFi speakers and am thinking of replacing the tweeter with the likely better and more modern monitor tweeter. Interestingly this tweeter replacement guide PDF from Amphion for the Two 18 shows the tweeter without the small circuit board on the back (maybe it's still in the speaker somewhere near the crossover instead) and the tweeter has a different part number D15003 as opposed to D20023. The PDF is dated 2018, but SX Pro uploaded it in January 2024. Amphion monitor tweeter-change procedure.

Those look like Jantzen inductors. Sometimes the shellac that binds the coil together lets go a little bit where the ends of the wire separate off from the coil itself. I often reinforce those areas with a couple of extra zip-ties like that.
