Obviously these haters are unhappy with Amir, ASR, and the measurements and they now resort to personal attacks like this "Anything he doesn’t know doesn’t exist, apparently. That’s the definition of a backwardass scientist, engg undergrad (gpa=2.0).". I think Amir is doing just great on that forum and he doesn't have to just walk away because he's in the right. I think I got cricket in Wilson my Alexx. I have set Alexx in pool house and I out there try to listen while wife and sister swim and I hear cricket in speaker. Maybe get in through port but it not driver and still chirp when no power to speak. I love listen critical but chirp no go. I try put on gangster rap and pop to try shake it death but cricket tough little bugger. Any idea no shop vac and rather not take apart. Any music cricket no like? Even try Adele and still stay.

It seem every thread mine getting delete. It because of knuckle drag liberal get offended and report. Only other reason is I try to save Miller from being shill and nobody want me help him because he cut ties as audio web addiction. I travel to Far East to support company I acquire so be there and Costs Rica for winter. Maybe I return to site in summer when I back home again.

My maid over last night and we take a look together behind the Wilson. She point out that Odin cable make little ramp up to port and that how cricket get in. We turn cable so now cricket will need be expert on tightrope like wife to find way in. Maid also friend with girl that work at university librarian that study biology. They going to stop by after run today to check in cricket solution.

Thank for concern all insure. I beyond thank for all advice and try all song above and even try play opera to scare it out but cricket still in. When I have opera going at about 110db my neighbor tennis ladies come over to make sure everything ok. We end up having some lovely time in steam room together and do some deep massage to relax but I good audiophile and not break focus of cricket even with little tennis dress around. I just have diamond ear. This audio becoming my main focus thank to this site. Any other suggestion for music? I even try put pile of stone around to make better habitat but not come out but I think bass got better with pile of rock behind speaker.

This guy don’t care about cricket and cricket no care about his bad taste music. It has no prefer genre. Librarian come over with maid and suck the cricket out with garden hose in five minute. She contortionist got all up there. After we spend time in gym listen to Maggie and she teach wife sister pole dance technique on mushroom. She good student. I might put screen on Wilson port because I loose critical listen time with cricket.

Most members of the audio club to which I belong (though there are no membership rules merely an interest in audio), subscribe to trusting their ears and diss ASR. I have fortunately taken part in blind screen listening tests at Canada's NRC and have explained to one member who was ready to cut me loose for my adherence to science that there is so little hard data available to consumers that it seemed to me ridiculous to discount it. He is slowly coming around, even allowing me to measure his room, allowing him to better place his MLP where he can hear the improvement :)
 
Gosh, there are some seriously unhinged disturbed individuals on that forum!

At least the Roon thread was civil.
 
My guess is that these "haters" are largely projecting.

It can't be fun to feel like a dumbass when they realize that they have bought mediocre or even bad stuff for big bucks.Hence the hate reaction when the defense mechanism kicks in and and thus they begin to attack and even hate the messenger.

This silly HiFi hate. Childish I must say. We've all made bad decisions. Sometimes unknowingly so but in retrospect with more knowledge realized it. You accept it and move on. Hopefully one learns from the mistake.:)

There are some here rather too sensitive to anything they don't agree with, or can't cope with their leg being pulled on occasion. They accuse those who don't tow the line as trolls, even if the "troll" raises a valid point that they cannot logically respond to. Having said that, there's lots of good stuff here and most contributors are more open-minded than perhaps critics of this forum believe.
 
Audiogon used to be a great site to buy and sell gear, and then they tried to be a destination with the message boards.

Think about it though. The site owners want to encourage as much tweaking and subjectivity to help increase the turnover in gear sales and purchases.

I’m a so-called objectivist and subjectivist — but once you hit “end game” you don’t really need to keep shopping for new gear. (For me, end game doesn’t mean SOTA necessarily. It means that I am happy with my setup until something breaks.)
 
All one needs to discredit the haters is point then to the impact Amir and this site has had on the audiophile community. People more openly discuss objective measurements when talking audio. This site and community almost single-handedly pushed Schiit and now even PS Audio into buying and utilizing Audio Precision audio analyzers to fix broken and develop new product. There are still naysayers but they are being proven wrong by the direction this hobby has taken. I applaud the work Amir has undertaken and thank him for the money he has saved me pursuing the elusive audio nirvana. I found it quickly by learning to trust scientific method and ignoring the shills and charlatans that pervade the industry.

I just spent 20 minutes reading absolute drivel from smooth brained idiots. Why did you have to punish me with that. The absolute audacity of ignorance is astounding on those sites.
