Aluminum cone/bullet shaped thing placed on top of speaker

I reckon those "acoustic beaks' were originally on display in a speaker manufacturer's showroom/stand at a show showing the component parts of a driver. They appear to be exactly the same style as a spun-aluminium phase plug in a woofer.

Better use a hefty dumbell weight if you want to limit resonances of the top of your speaker cabinet...
