Active Room Treatment (ART) by Dirac

You can control the filters for each.

BACCH's default XTC filter for LF is ~90Hz. And then you can adjust as necessary to make sure that ART and BACCH don't overlap.

XTC is not effective at LF anyway.
Thank you. I was also thinking that maybe I could exclude LF and RF speakers from the ART duties, and Bacch could use them undisturbed, say in 5.2 setup.

I have no opinion about what would be optimal there. I use neither multichannel nor BACCH.

Has anyone seen any before and after measurements of DL-ART taken via REW out in the wild yet?
Yes i have!
It is a open space with a lot of reverb, so the impulse and waterfall is not so good to start with.
But The difference from BC to ART is very big.

What's your setup and how big is the room? Are there any passive treatments like bass traps?

5x JBL M2
2x JBL 708i
4x 18" sub
2x 21" sub

ART was running 20-150hz on all M2s and subwoofers. BC was running <80hz.

Listening space is 6,5mx4,5m, but it is open on one side to the first floor. So the reverb is on The long side...

That's a very nice setup!

Are the subs placed around the room or are you using a single bass array behind the screen?
Waterfall plots look really impressive

Amazing setup!
Could you share the mdat file? Or at least post the spectrograms, I find waterfalls extremely hard to read and impossible to compare

If ART is generating inverted sound waves to “cancel” sounds at the measured listening positions, would that mean that the system would sound “louder” in adjacent spaces or outside the listening environment?
Based on my understanding of how ART works, the "cancellation signal" output level is typically significantly lower in magnitude compared to the "original signal" output level. Noise levels in adjacent spaces would probably be very similar. Compared to traditional Dirac Live, though - I would imagine noise levels would be lower since ART wouldn't need to significantly boost low frequencies to combat nulls generated by room modes.

@alont Interesting thought. Hopefully ART is released for the X3800h. Love to find out for myself. Thanks for the input.

Yes that is very nice. Waterfall and GD are clearly improved.

Like the other poster asked, if you could share your mdat file, that would be helpful. If you have them, can you include individual sweeps of each component (without EQ, and with timing ref)?

ART, BC och No eq with all speakers

If you find anything interesting, please send me a message.

So you now, this is a open loft space with wooden floor and sealing. So dont kill me for the long decay times. But it still sounds pretty good!
Materials and design was a big part but i have done my best to get decent sound ;)
See pictures in my previously posts

was to big, so here is a onedrive link

All in all very impressive.

Funky things happening in the RT60 section I'm not clear on.

Interesting how SBIR is still harder to control than LF.

wow, thanks! It's just magic for the low end decay. It's working up to around 150Hz right?

I'm not seeing anything so spectacular about ART in the waterfall plot compared to simply having some very basic room treatments (carpet, drapes placed just so, bookshelves as diffusers, a brick wall behind my fireplace opposing a set of drapes as another diffuser)..... What can it do with already good results?

You could get rid of those deep nulls, also please post spectrogram on default settings rather than waterfall as you're showing only 20dB of decay, waterfalls can be deceiving when set up certain way
