... oh there are the little L and R on the cable plugs!
I plugged left and right the wrong way 'round to begin with, checked balance and had to swap 'em.
At least I looked up images for which way to orientate the cables. They bend up and away from the unit, not over it.
Hey not bad at all for a first set of IEMs.
Fit was comfortable (deafult red tips). A little off putting being able to hear my breathing so loudly when the music fades out. Seemed much worse than closed-back headphones.
Passes the midrange test (0.27s "...fooled by a feeling" per
Steve Hoffman post.
I feel the upper mid/low treble is unforgiving as Sade's
Diamond Life and Donald Fagen's
The Nightfly both sound fatiguing. By contrast Steely Dan's
Aja and
Gaucho both sounded fine. Generally, I don't find the low end too much at all. Modern material with fake bass can be a bit boomy, but Dua Lipa's
Houdini (London Sessions) sounded pretty bloomin' great!
Resolution of vocals is fine and is probably the best I've heard so far on Fleetwood Mac's
The Chain and Abba's
Take a Chance. Very obvious and distinctly different voices which seem to almost melt into the one voice on some setups.
So long as low priced gear like this puts a smile on our faces, I don't think we can be blamed for a bit of retail therapy and buying a new toy to play with. I get strange looks if I start browsing the shelves of Lego in stores
