Who do you think is the best music producer and why.?

I really like Steves Albini work. Both as producer and record engineer. His influence on alternative scene is enormous. Every time when I pick an album produced by him I can be pretty sure that it will fit my taste. His records sound so raw yet faithfully while keeping high quality.

Isn't he hard core analog type.? I remember seeing interviews with him about tape & such. He stories on the Nirvana gig was interesting.

I'm going with Robert Fripp for his production of the Roches' first album and Daryl Hall's solo album.

I don't care about the 'sound' I care about musical decisions and he took those artists to another dimension.
