Which Woofer Would You Want?

If you were building a set of 3-way towers using 10" woofers, what would you choose? I will be using a sub with them.

Peerless makes some excellent, affordable, 10" drivers.

Yeah budget will matter. Been out of the DIY speaker scene the last few years. Dynaudio woofers were really something, like their midranges and tweeters (especially their tweeters).

All active, hybrid (amp for woofer, amp for midrange+tweeter), or all passive?

If passive, what's your target system sensitivity?

Do you care about aesthetic differences between midrange and woofer, such as clashing cone colors, different mounting flange finish or bolt pattern, etc? If so, what's your midrange?

The choice of driver depends on several factors. For starters Sealed or ported box? Why 10"?

Sealed or reflex?

Can't really answer without knowing the box type.

Well, with a proper box, the Goldwood 10" GW-10PC-4 has proven an inexpensive, very useful woofer for a vented design.

@amirm has even heard them in action.
