After 3 years of very moderate use (once per week?) the head band broke  when I took it off. Since it seems to be impossible to fix the head band or get a replacement I need a new closed BT headphone, and it won't be anything with AKG in its name.

I'm not a typical bass head but like deep clean bass a lot, and a wide sound stage (I also own HD800 and DT990pro and can use them without EQl). I need it for playing music from my smartphone, and it'd be nice if I could feed it by cable from my mixing console.

The only ones I found which offer BT and cable are the Audiotechnica ATH-MX*bt series. Are there any other recommendations I should try? Budget is 200, could go up to 300 if sound quaility is excellent.

Why not a small BT dongle and wired headphones. Mix console is a part of the concern. For now I am happy with Denon AH-D5200 and those can go with almost any source including high self impedance one's as it doesn't change their tonality. They do benefit from EQ and a bit over the budget. From BT dongles QCC5125 + CS43131 combinations start at about 40~50$. I have Hiby W3 II and it's fine all do app isn't very good. Maybe a little better one in your case with balanced output and enough power to drive those you already have as you like it tho not for a console.

I went with @ZolaIII's approach since I already own a Qudelix 5k. Our local pro shop has a bar with about 20 headphones to try. Most of them fell out immediately due to bad comfort (ear cups too small) and/or bad sound.

The final candidates were Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro (250 Ohm) and DT 700 pro X. I went for the latter as it sounds more open (closer to an open headphone) and has a detachable cable.
