AN ENTIRE TOWN IS UNDER QUARANTINE BECAUSE A MAN RETURNED AFTER HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH A WOMAN WHO HAD CORONAVIRUS

The unidentified woman had returned to her home in the Argentinian city of Córdoba after a trip to Spain just over a week ago.

During their encounter, she told him about her trip to Spain and even said she'd had symptoms of the coronavirus. Nonetheless, the former lovers had sex and then went their separate ways. The man returned to his town and was welcomed back by about 20 friends at a party.

Is this the cause of the much higher fatality rate? Not enough ICU beds available?

LCR director Honda explodes: "My father has died of Covid-19 from lack of respirators"

"No one should die alone. My father started working at the age of 14 until he was 65. He never asked for anything. On Wednesday he needed a respirator to avoid dying and "they denied him." His doctor, a tremendous person and professional, called me with tears to ask permission to let him die. This is the Spain we have. This generation has been the one who built this country, its swamps, roads, agriculture, working 14 hours a day, coming out of a postwar period, and we are letting them die.

My mother is still locked up at home, unable to hug her, kiss her, comfort her, she tested positive and does not want to return to the hospital because she fears that they will also let her die," he explained in this heartbreaking video. ]

Madrid utilizará como morgue las instalaciones del Palacio de Hielo

Madrid will use the Ice Palace facilities as a morgue

[ The ice palace concessionaire has offered its facilities to house the bodies of the dead by Covid-19, but so far it is not known the exact moment it came into operation. The Community of Madrid, through the Subdirectoration general of public health, has already given the go-ahead for the deceased to move there, according to a spokesperson for the Regional Executive. The Military Emergency Unit (UME), which would be responsible for transferring and guarding the coffins, is finalizing a protocol of action in consensus with the regional government, according to Army sources... ]

covid-19-USA-cases-per-million-22032020.png

  • The graph shows number of confirmed cases per million inhabitants, plotted on a log scale, against time. Each US state curve is shown offset by the amount shown in the key so as to align the curves.
  • Most US states are a long way behind European countries, but several now have comparable rates per million inhabitants. I have plotted the states with most confirmed cases.
  • Washington is ahead of many European countries, and only roughly five days behind Switzerland. It is not exactly clear how to place this curve though - European countries moved from 35% daily increase rate to 22% over time. The most recent trend line is lower than 22% and Washington is one of the few states with a decreasing fraction of positive tests, indicating that testing there is growing faster than infections.
  • New York was growing at close to the 35% daily increase rate seen in Europe, but has had large increases the last three days. This usually happens when cases have been spreading undetected, and suddenly testing starts catching up. I have placed New York based on the previous 35% growth phase, but today's datapoint would place New York four days behind Italy.
  • Colorado and Florida have been increasing at close to the 35% daily increase rate seen in Europe. However, live digital thermometer data now shows a large number of people there with a fever, so I expect to see a large increase in cases there soon.
  • California shows a slightly lower increase rate, and the data is very clean. It is possible the slower increase rate is due to warmer weather.
  • New Jersey, Louisiana and Michigan appear to be catching up on testing, so any underlying rate is impossible to determine.

Healthcare has been managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya for almost four decades. How is it possible that there are only 600 ICU beds for 7.543 million inhabitants (2018)?

ICU beds have been reduced to save $$ so that there is no excess capacity.

News Alert: due to the lack of aircraft fires, the fire stations at airports will be shut down too.

Our governor in Michigan just ordered a shelter-in-place and closing of all non-essential businesses effective 12 a.m. March 24th.

How we live seriously effortlessly :)

It's a pure luck that people can appear to be fully recovered today. Not so to those back in 2003.
