I have been looking at a few YouTube reviews of budget amplifiers, which has me considering a budget purchase (around £100), but not seeing much that actually ticks my boxes.

The biggest box to tick is simplicity and being an actual power amp with an internal power supply. But cheap yet good sounding with low noise floor, in particular hiss as currently using 103db speakers as a stop gap. I simply want RCA input, XLR is a bonus, with a power switch, but so far all the budget power amps are actually integrated with a single input or two, volume controls, and power bricks.

I have a Yamaha E-800 processor sitting around which is simply not worth selling, that has pre outs, with center and rear channels at 70w per channel. And my lad and I quite enjoy it as a stereo pre amp, but he has been using it with a fan assisted PA amp that that is simply too deep to fit anywhere and the fans are noisy.

Something like the SMSL A100 but simplified would be great if it simply amplified a single input, I really do not want a bluetooth, single input integrated. A stereo RCA input, binding post ouput with a power on switch is all I need.

And available in the UK.

I know Emotiva is available in the UK, but as this is an old processor it really wont be used for movies any more, the Emotiva BasX A5 was pointed out as a nice sollution for an AV power amp to pair to the E-800, but the idea is to not spend money or pair it with anything costly.

For inexpensive and able to play loud, the Aiyima A07 is still a good choice, paired with a basic 36v 5a power supply. Max or near max the volume and use your pre for regular volume control.

There is not a lot available new that are "just amps" in the budget class D or class AB range other than the Fosi monoblocks, and again with them, you have to live with the power bricks.

I myself am getting interested in trying out the Schiit Gjallhorn paired with their new Saga 2 preamp, but this amp is best used for nearfield or a smaller room system. Not a ton of power, but does have an internal power supply, and can be used either as a monoblock or stereo unit. $300. I'm not aware of anything else in the sub $300 price range that a) is a monoblock or an amp with no v/c and b) has internal power.

The A07 requires more than 36v to put out anything near 70 WPC into 8 ohms. Amir's review shows 61 WPC with 48v and only 48 WPC with 36v. It's also somewhat load-dependent, like all TPA3255 amps without PFFB -- whether that amounts to an issue depends on whether your hearing ability way up high allows you to actually notice that. I use two A07s for my 7.1 near field system's four ambience/surround channels -- it was easy to correct for that minor load dependence issue with DSP, since I was already using DSP to iron out a couple of little FR quirks in the speakers. The A07 is a great product for the (absurdly small amount of) money, but I don't think it's the sort of thing the OP is looking for.

Well, for the cost involved, I still recommend an A07 or A07 Max as great sounding amps for small money. Or buy a Hypex amp for $550 or so.

I wish there was something in the $300 range that's perfect for the original ask, but I'm not aware of anything.
