Hy everyone,
I have a problem. I want tu use my audio interface as DAC to the RCA audio IN of my HT amp and put the VGA or HDMI video signal of the pc on a video IN of the amp, but Idk how.
If I use the HDMI I can't use the RCA for the audio and the HDMI for the video at the same time. And I don't find an adaptator than can do VGA to RCA / HDMI ( every adaptator do RCA / HDMI to VGA ). I want to be able to hear my PC and have the screen of the amp at the same time.
PS : amp : Yamaha RV-V673

ÉDIT : I find this cable ( It do HDMI to RCA but I don't know if it do correctly the job. The comments are not pretty good, sometime it's say yes and sometime not ... Idk ) : https://www.amazon.fr/MMOBIEL®-Câbl...2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1

If the Yamaha is incapable of mixing two different input sources (HDMI Video+RCA Audio), and from your description that seems to be the case, then no adapter of any kind will help you achieve your goal.

Instead, you'd have to either modify the Yamaha by wiring the RCA Line inputs directly to the Amp inputs, or you'd have to purchase a dedicated, external Power Amp which you can plug your interface into.

Alternately, run the HDMI straight to your TV / Monitor and turn the sound off. Then use your Yamaha for audio only from the DAC in this setup.

Clearly this has downsides (more cables, can't see the receiver GUI and your receiver display over your video) but it certainly beats modifying the amp.

why ? i can use a HDMI out on the pc, to AV input of the amp ( stereo RCA with video RCA but i use only the yellow for the video ), and i use the stereo RCA with my DAC. No ?

Ahh I see, you want to use the Yamaha's Composite input to create a composite signal of HDMI Video + Interface Audio.

That should work, though at a significant penalty to image quality.

not a big problem, i just want to use the pc screen to see the amp setting and transfer my music file to the pc. That's why i wanna know if the amazon cable that i see is good or he never gonna work. The opinion on the product are mixed so idk who believe .

To see the AVR settings on the PC monitor, you will either need a spare HDMI input on your monitor (connected to the AVR HDMI output), or an HDMI input on the PC (i.e. some sort of video capture device) connected to the AVR HDMI output.

Where are you transferring the music files from?

i also see that possibility but i already have 6 outlet alimentation and i dont want to had one

yes i'm gonna use the mmail HDMI output of the AVR.
actually i dont have the pc, all my musique are on my usb key on the usb of the AVR. I have a JVC XL-31 CD player and i clearly hear a better sound from it. So i want to use my audio interface with a pc ( one of my family member have an old pc that give me for free ) so i want to make a dedicared pc with foobar and my audio interface to the AVR and use the pc screen to see the pc and the AVR settings.

Better sound than the USB key plugged into the AVR? Are you comparing direct CD rips of the same CDs that you are playing on the JVC XL-31? Have you level matched the the CD player and USB key inputs for the comparison? Was the comparison blind?

I ask, because what you are describing is not simple to setup and I feel that it may not be worth the effort or expense.

yes at the start i just play some musique that i dont have but i find the sound sound strange? so i riped some of my CD and i listen both and i can tel at 100% taht the cd sound better that the rip. all my rip is in FLAC, so normaly it sound the same. I dont make a blind comparaison, the CD have a better sound stage and bass.

@Charvel : I am not sure I understand your requirement exactly, but would perhaps a simple HDMI two-to-one switch help, switching between your PC and the AVR output?

Sound stage and bass are things that might be affected by things like speaker position and room acoustics. Changing the source between the CD and the AVR USB drive, but playing the same digital file, will have no impact on this unless something is seriously broken or the levels have been set quite differently.

I had a look at your yamaha manual. Look at page 81/82. You can use an HDMI input for video, and select one of the RCA inputs for the audio to use with that HDMI.
