Upsample before software PEQ?

Does it help to upsample at all before PEQ? Trying to decide if I should:

Software Upsample -> Software PEQ -> DAC w/ NOS filter
or
Native Sample Rate -> Software PEQ -> DAC w/ Fast filter

All else being equal, the resolution of the PEQ digital filter reduces with increased sample rate. So that would be another reason to not upsample.

Let me add a caveat that the above assumes IIR filter is not used for PEQ.
