I’m looking for a device that takes toslink or coax input and outputs Dante that’s well under $500. Use case is a secondary but high use system to bridge a WiiM Pro source to Powersoft Mezzo 604AD amp for mains and subs. So far I’ve found this one - but I’ll live with an A/D - D/A loop rather than paying that much

Hmm, didn’t think to look for AES but that makes sense.

I assume one of those Canare or similar baluns is needed to convert coax to AES? Would rather not have a plug in box for that.

“The old rule that direct connection between AES/EBU and S/PDIF equipment is bad practice is relaxed today with new receiver chips tolerant to either interface.”

A little unpredictable but it might be as easy as just connecting the two electrically…
