Topping D10 Balanced Review (USB DAC)

The cable is the most critical component in the chain.
Power (V x I) flows differently in 2 cables of different costs but of the exact same configuration. The physics prove it flows more purely in the more expensive one.
Fact.

I bought a cable matters cable I think for the D10b, they are about $10 each.
Bu the cheap DAC and be happy, buy whatever cables you want and be happy. On a side note I have my d10B plugged into a "line in" input on an allen an heath mixer, If I were to use XLR I run the risk of 48v phantom power being sent to it and having it smoked.

So if the d10b had XLR outputs I would have had to buy an adapter for my use.
If you are just going to an amp or power speakers the adapter should be fine.

Also the new topping PA3s has TRS inputs that match the TRS outputs on the DAC.

Only if it has directional arrows marked on it!

Agreed
The music will play backwards.
“Paul is a dead man. Miss him.”
I have heard from experts that if you make sure to point the arrow downward (vertical), the 'gremlins' that push (or pull) the electrons will reach ultimate velocity... I was also told that is the reason for putting a preAmp/DAC higher than the power amp... Wasn't it Gore who invented gravity?

Remember when a POTUS had said something along the lines of "You can keep your healthcare and you don't have to pay extra."?
Consider your "existing XLR cables" as the "healthcare" and add these adapters as the inflationary "extra" (@$3.18).

Topping provides adapters for the back of the unit. I prefer to use the opposite gendered adapter at the other end. The cables don't get in the way as much in most setups and you don't have the adapter sticking out the back of the D10 making it require more desktop space.

The D10 balanced only has 1/4" jacks.
You must use some sort of 1/4 to XLR adapter.

I prefer some TRS (1/4 inch) cables leaving the Topping, and they either have male XLR on the other end, or use a TRS to male XLR adapter for the other end. This reduces the length of stiff metal extending out the back of the Topping by two/thirds. Making it much handier to place somewhere. Balanced TRS cables easy to come by and still offer the benefits of balanced connection.

That is what I bought: male TRS > male XLR, 2' cable.
No adapters.

On behalf of all ingénieurs, I would like to apologize for the un-woke statements made by similar professionals.
They don't get out much: You See!
Lol
I'm used to having my chops busted. Lol

Neither do I get out much: what's more boring than a party full of accountants?
When they bring their engineer husbands :)

My cables arrived, had my CPA wife send me a pic at work.

Some humor to break up the day

Considering that I don't need the extra features - will D30PRO be a noticeable sonic upgrade?

My amp is SP400.

My amps have a combo xlr and trs input similar to the this Combo XLR & TRS. I remember thinking at the time who would use TRS plugs these days. Well then I got the D10 Balanced. 600 and 300 mm TRS to TRS cables are cheap.

Edited.
