THX cinema with pro cinema audio gear

last no night a Dolby CP950 sold for £1k wow that is cheap ! plus the rest which won't be as its not core version standard 5.1/7.1 , atmos key would cost few grand and expander module to go from atmos 16ch to 32ch and 64ch , but atmos no longer interests me
in year or so there be more CP850 appearing cheaply well its been around for 11 no years

fed up with atmos , hardly played it now for over a month , yeah sure had that rubbish atmos movie last month , you won't it as i don't only watched half of it , the atmos mix was dreadful

had Dolby atmos for few no years and now fed up with it , i didn't even bother demoing atmos to my cousin , just a theatrical mix dts laserdisc

cineworld first time been to one and it was , atrocious

actually its the original CIC/UCI tower park 10 plex opened 1989 where got first projectionist job there when it was all fresh and brand new , its been under few operators that took it over , empire cinemas early 2000s and spent i think £7m refurbishment , adding more auditoriums onto the roof and gutting the originals downstairs

challengers 2024 , screen 5 , utter rubbish , beyond appalling , it was , the same as 2012 last other time there in screen 5 , no changes much to the main lager screens 5 and 6 , same noise sound booming bass bleed through

after 6mins of the rubbish movie hollywood dolby labs 7.1 sound mix , i got up and walked out and started to head home

new camera phone stereo mics picked up the sound okay , that i can hear in my JBL/THX cinema the dreadful 1.2s what ever that honky reverb noise on typical dialog is distracting its not on the soundtrack and i put up with it for decades and now finally fed up with hearing that poor sound dubbing stage to cinema rubbish quality , for crying out loud absorb the whole auditorium

the QSC stage channels had issues , right bass cab seemed broken , it wasn't outputting equal bass as noticed on stage left bass cab , HF horns appeared okay LCR ,
sub bass/LFE boomy and noticed short few second before it decayed , would be annoying in the other adjacent screens 4 and 6 as muffed low frequency

surround channel speakers was utterly rubbish not very sound involving at all , no , at all

i doubt they do proper sound checks each day to make , what's the point anyway

also screen had crease were the strings that tighten the screen down came lose and must have been that way for well over a year or more , also i noticed bass/screen wobble due to the screen not been tightened down and was visually distracting when screen bass or sub bass was used , the screen is super micro perforated may explain as the perf holes are smaller and maybe more acoustical energy reflecting and cursing screen to flex/distort

never again going back to this cinema site

live ranting review of cineworld and into my JBL/THX home cinema that sounds far better than commercial cinemas , no annoying echoes or short reverb annoying echoes

not the best bond , okay sound mix , sounded way better than that atrocious cineworld tower park , challengers 2024 ,

loudness on my JBL/THX is more controlled on HF horns and mid/tweeters on surrounds
