Simple Class-D Amp *With Remote* Wanted- No DAC, No Tone, No Bluetooth

I guess I'm belatedly catching up with the design fundamentals of the various amplifier types. A remote volume control on an amp with an analogue line-in (whether linear or switching/D-class) isn't that straightforward, it has to be either a motorised pot (no thanks) or switched resistor ladder/network attenuation which is rather expensive to implement so it's actually no surprise that cheap, simple D-class 'integrated amps' with remote volume control don't exist.

Oh God, it just gets worse. Talk about not exercising due diligence on my part;

in their infinite wisdom Denon omitted a stereo line-out (not a pre-out - I wouldn't expect one on any budget amp) on the PMA-60 and its brethren, the PMA-30/50/150H, which means that if I want to use my headphone amp I'll have to switch devices in Windows, to a different interface/DAC (the SU-1 I guess).

What a truly idiotic decision by the designers.

Gah, the SMSL AO100 is the exact device I need, but it hasn't been available for a while. In the meantime there's the SMSL A300, but you'll pay twice the price for extra features that you don't need. I have ordered the obscure O-NOORUS A80 with the same amp/volume control chips, let's see what that does. I liked the SMSL AO100 design and display better than the O-NOORUS though, if the SMSL AO200 ever becomes available again I'll buy that one, but I don't want to pay twice just because they're not in stock.

there's a few TPA power amps but there's not much in integrateds with remote

the o-noorus d1 is an obvious one with a screen and remote and digital tone and bonus pffb but yeah like as yet there's not much competition if those features are non negotiable

Never even heard of pffb, but I've just ordered the D1, this looks quite nice feature/price wise. Lets see if the amp chip is as good as the Infineon amp! Thank you for the recommendation.

I got the O-Noorus D1 last week and have listened to it to it a few days, it's really good. Sounds uncolored (a bit warmer would have been nice, but it doesn't sound harsh), bass extends far enough, no channel imbalance at low volume that some of the cheap digital amps have. I'm a happy camper!

I've also tried the cheaper O-Noorus A80, but I didn't really like the sound compared to the SMSL A12. They should be the same amp chip, but the SMLS A12's bass seems to extend lower and the sound appears a bit warmer, so I returned the A80.
