TL;DR: An AMP for bookshelf speaker. I already have a DAC.
Mandatory requirements:
Intro
Hi all,
I am looking for an AMP for my living room. I already have an SMSL Sanscrito DAC that take the TV as Optical Source, and currently a really cheap AMP (Fosi Audio T20) that drive a couple of bookshelf Dali speakers.
I don’t need much, the only thing I am upgrading, it is for having a remote, as stupid as it may sound. I take this also as a excuse to upgrade it as surely it can’t hurt.
My budget is definitely less than €300, better if around €200. My current AMP did cost around €70 on Amazon 5-ish years ago, so I think a x3-x4 times the price + all the years in between, should be a decent upgrade already.
What I have searched so far
I already tried looking for something, but currently failed IMO. I saw that Topping always have incredibile performance based on the charts here, unfortunately, all the PA lineup does not have a remote. I saw that 12V trigger input, but if I understood it correctly, it only works with them (or similar input), so I can’t use it with my SMSL DAC, but please, prove me wrong, they would be the best choice in terms of of size, price and performance.
I then looked at SMSL lineup, but it is huge and from their site I can’t understand what’s every AMP it is designed for. They have 3 pages of random stuff. I looked a bit here and on YT and common recommendations seems the A300 and the new AO 200 MKII. The A300 review from here it is mediocre at best and hardly recommended, while for the AO 200 MKII I could not find anything there.
I also looked at the SMSL RAW HA1, the review here it is decent and better than the A300. It fits my budget and it has a remote. All good, but it has lots of stuff that I don’t need. I already have a DAC and don’t need headphone out, so I feel like I am paying a premium for something I don’t need. Maybe there is another product from them, that I am not aware about (hidden in those 3 pages of their website) with the same AMP performance but few bells and whistles ?
Also looked at the Fosi Audio V3, but again, no remote.
Thanks in advance to everyone for their time.
Edit: Just made Bold products looked at to make it easier for you to catch.
