When Russian "brotherly love" comes, it always ends up with sub-african levels of gdp, torture, death and all kinds of human suffering. Too bad the pu apologists fail or refuse to notice the pattern.

The problem stems from Putin’s formative years in the USSR, when the Cold War was a living reality. Nurtured and trained by the KGB who’s entire focus was on confrontation with the West, he finds comfort in the old ‘realities’ of the Cold War.’ It’s been said we are all prisoners of our childhood and he’s no different in that way to the rest of us.
With the fall of the Soviet Union many in the West thought they could put a full stop in the book of History, consequently we stopped being vigilant. If you take Germany as an example a member of NATO who’ve never fulfilled their obligations to it and for many years have been selling military related technology to Russia. Has the penny dropped yet? They are now supplying armaments to the Ukraine after refusing their airspace to be used for supplying arms to the Ukraine.

Folks, no arguments or fights in this thread...

While that would be nice, it's bound to happen with such a heated topic. Like it or not, this about politics.
There's going to be many views and opinions, all of which each assume they are right.
Allowing this thread, however much we may think needs discussed, is only going to cause more angst among forum members.

So, there is no doubt this thread will go off the rails with many disagreeing with a few. With the actual truth lying somewhere in the middle.
Either a decision needs to be made regarding those discussions involving politics (like it or not, this whole situation boils down to politics) are now going to be allowed or we shut it down entirely. If you don't, there will be a point where something is said that many don't like, then the complaining will start. Then you or a Mod will have to decide what is or isn't allowed. Which in turn will only lead to the opposing accused party offender, with accusations of favoritism or trying to suppress opposing viewpoints.

I'm sure some won't agree with my post, like it or not, this thread is doomed for disaster or at the very least some division between some members.
Which would be a sad thing. After all, it is with division that seems to stoke all these conflicts in the first place.

I will only say, peace to all, and may these so-called caring leaders, find a quick and peaceful resolution to this whole screwed up unnecessary conflict.

As very well stated above. This thread is about Global Politics and Violates our No Political Content Rules. There are certainly hundreds of other web sites that you can go to and discuss this Tragedy as much as you wish. We come here to get away from this type of polarizing content.
