RME DAC-FS error messages on line output: UFL

Topic: RME Dac fs channel messages: both left and right lineout "UFL"​

I turned on both my cd based system and RME DAC FS. RME DAC is on, but will not play any sound: "UFL" term on both left and right output screens. XLR cable output is to powered Genelec speakers
I have not changed any settings on RME for over a year. What is this telling me? Configuration error? RME malfunction? Faulty CD transport?

It means "underflow", that is, the input signal is 0 (so the dB level is mathematically undefined).
