Honestly, the portability. Sometimes I need to work while travelling. The babyface was my first venture into a "Pro" audio interface. I love it though, no complaints. Never felt the need to upgrade it.
I've been looking into the RME DAC, is it a version of the ADI you have? are you using the headphone amp? how is it?
Hi,
There are plenty of options in your budget (and less expensive too)
You said you 'work while travelling ', do you have any specific requirements for your DAC? Any needs for inputs/outputs and what gear will you use it with?

Hi, I travel about once a month so it's not a huge priority to have a DAC with me. The interface works for that. The DAC will be for my studio.
I want to connect my headphone amp Topping L30ii and Neumann kh120 monitors.
I wonder if it makes sense to buy a stand-alone DAC.
The DAC board itself is cheap compared with the case, power supply, sockets and cables that you need to pay for. Have you considered either buying a streamer with DAC, or better from a budget point of view a streamer with DAC and preamp, or even an all-in-one with power amp? With all these small modules built into a single enclosure, sharing a power supply and minimising cables, it's an attractive alternative if budget is a concern - as it is with most of us!
