rePhase with software DSP?

Hi all,

I have a persistent null around the crossover frequency of my active speakers and I wondered if it’s a phase issue. I’d like to try rePhase to address it, but I apply DSP in software (Audiohijack/Audirvana and Audio Units plugins). Does anyone know of an Audio Units convolver plugin that will apply the output from rePhase, or another means to achieve this using macOS software, or does it only work with hardware convolvers like the miniDSP products?

Many thanks,

James

Can't you use EqualizerAPO just for your tests?

Convolution plugins for Mac

Melda MConvolutionEZ — Free!
https://www.meldaproduction.com/MConvolutionEZ

Home Audio Fidelity
Convolver Plugin is free, but it requires a 2x2 matrix, so you need 2 silent impulse responses for 2 of the 4 IR’s.

Mellowmuse IR1 ($50). New version 4.0 released in April. It supports IR’s as long as 440K samples, i.e., 10 seconds at 44.1 KHz sample rate. The demo version never expires but inserts silence periodically.

Pretty sure jriver does that. Are you performing the phase manipulation on the whole speaker or on single drivers?

Whole speaker if possible. Does that change which software I can use?

Thanks for these - excuse my ignorance but will these allow me to input what rePhase calculates? For example Melda ConvolutionEZ seems to be designed for adding reverb to a signal, can this type of processing also be used to correct for speaker phase issues?

Maybe, depends on end user application but jriver convolution engine can do either so your good. Not sure if jriver offers a demo version to test you hypothesis or not though.

This all sounds good, but I just discovered Jriver doesn’t support tidal, which is a bit of a deal breaker for me sadly.
