I know many forums get overwhelmed with purchase advice, but I think that given the knowledge base available there might be some really good advice on offer (see the recent 'which speakers for $10k' thread).

Could we consider a dedicated section for these? I enjoy these threads but know some users really don't like them, and so they would be quarantined there out of the way.

I have not seen an issue with people asking about them. Not sure why some other forums ban these or limit them to one forum. So ask away in the appropriate section for the type of gear you are interested in.

Note that most members here do NOT navigate the forum structure anyway. They just hit the New Posts and see all the new threads with no association with where the thread is. So even if we had a forum for them, it would not be used/seen by membership. Visitors are the ones that see the structure but they can't post.

I am one of those people who doesn't like reading the same buying recommendation topics over and over and also just visits specific sections as for example audio electronics is something I consider as long solved, who knows maybe the are more like me, maybe add a poll on top?
Also such sections could be subsections of each product category plus maybe one for combined system purchases.
Although luckily for now the amount of such purchase advice topics keeps within limits, but I feel the trend is rising as ASR gets more and more popular also to less specialised readers.
