I am looking for a balanced output DAC with an output over 4.2V, as close as possible to 5V. Optimally, It would be on the mid to mid low price range, lest say under 500 USD/Euros. I have looked on the review thread but I did not find any (not claiming that is not there, just that I did not find it). Most of the ones I am looking at, E70 or DL100 are below 4.3V, which seems to be in the highest range of the ones I found . I like to have a little bit of extra gain to into the amps and I do not want to add any other equipment into the gain path

Thakns. in advance.

I own an E70, and it's easily switchable between 4V and 5V output. I use it with 5V.

I am confused about the SMSL DL100. According to the measurements here it maxes at about .43V but the chart states 5.2V Am i missing something?

I'm not sure, but sometimes @ amirm tested only with close to 4 volts, but it is more industrial standard than 5 volts isn't. You can expect a little better S/N ratio with 5 mostly. But you have to take care your amplifier can handle it (overdriving)
