Oooh , new Drop THX collab!

I saw that today too. Seems to be targeting the Atom. Would be really cool if they were able to avoid a power brick, looks like the chassis has enough real estate. From a pure wire management / desk organization perspective I loath power bricks.

“While the 789 provides more power with its balanced design, the ONE will still drive most headphones with ease”

So no XLR, right?

There's no way they're going to do xlr. That's fundamental product strategy to avoid cannibalizing higher end product (789).

Definitely not for output by the looks. Doubt they will put on the back for input either. Why would they, although its interesting to have on, say, the Archel 2.5.

sp200 is about $200 with thx888 technology, what benefits we can get from this drop version?

the SP200 is about $300. Even if the only "feature" was a $200 price tag that'd be enough for most.

Lower price. No xlr out. Why would this have benefits? Its obviously their budget /slimline 789.

This new amp is direct competition to atom (single ended, pre-out), not to sp200 (SE+balanced input, high power output)..
But first let's see at which price Drop will pitch this  I'm thinking it'll be far too high.

I reckon rrp 130 or 150, pre order 20 lower than that. I can't see rrp 120 launch at 100.
