Interesting. I can see this explaining why music does seem more enjoyable to many after installing a new expensive upgrade

Not surprising. Activity in the NaCC indicates enjoyment and the subjects were tested with music that they (and the investigators) knew they enjoyed. However, other studies show that subjects can be conditioned to enjoy (or become addicted to) stimuli that are associated with "other rewards like food, money, and alcohol."
