Hey everyone, pulled the plug on the monolith thx 365c and I can't for the life of me get it to sound anywhere close to acceptable.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, but then, it would be strange indeed that so many likes it, and says it sounds great.

Running rz50 right now, ran it first with no eq or corrections...mark knofler sounded very withdrawn and no clarity....I then ran my Dirac measurements and did a couple of different curves including default, no change...when I listen up close all speakers are functional. Movies are the same, no life or energy behind this center ATM.

I put my Klipsch 450c back in, and the clarity is night and day.

I tried running only the center, same ...I got it hooked up to a basx3.

Is there anything you can think of, that I can do, to get some life out of this center?

It makes no sense to me that it would sound like this ...

If, this is just how it sounds, and it's the Klipsch horns that create this experience, then perhaps when I get my arcam in, again, and my JBL 3800s it might work out?

At this point, it sounds underwhelming at minimum.

Thanks for any pointers!!

For some reason, the emotiva basx 3 does not handle this 4 ohm speaker very well. I hooked it straight up to my arcam, and now it sounds as expected.

Not that it matters I see ....

The BASX3 series of amps aren't all that capable and little different from your basic avr amps generally, but could be adequate. Might be something else in your gain structure for your experience.....which is largely just your speakers/room/placement options, not the electronics.

Thank you!

They drive my Klipsch just fine, just not the thx 360...

I'm looking for a 3 channel amp now, to drive the JBL 3800 and possibly the 360 ... Do you have any recommendations.....I wanna make sure whatever I purchase is solid in 4 ohms. The buckeye amps are in my consideration, but worry they will alter their arcam sound, that I love so much.

Thanks for replying I appreciate it!

Are you adjusting for the differences in using the different amp/speaker combos? I don't think Arcam has a "sound" and if it does I wouldn't want it. I like Crown XLS amps as well as the various Buckeye options.....and many other competent amps. Amps just aren't that big a deal as long as they meet your requirements for your speakers/use.
