I’ve just run the Neumann MA1 software and kind of wish I knew a little bit more about what I’m looking at when it comes to the results. I’m going to go through some of the tutorials posted here but would appreciate any pointers for glaringly obvious errors in the room acoustics. setup is 5.1.

  1. That's a near field target curve. For mid or far field, you'd want a more downward sloping response.
  2. Making your subwoofers play higher than about 100Hz isn't usually a good idea.

unless I’m running sound through the DAW nothing goes to the sub.. but I’ll double check my bass manager anyway! And yeah, nearfield listening : ). Thanks for the response

The curve might sound a bit bright. If it does, roll off the 1k - 20k a little.

I think I also set mine closer to 90 dB SPL @ 1m, as they were otherwise way too loud for my usage on my desktop (maybe 75cm distance).

1. The MA1 software asks for the distance and sets the target curve accordingly (more distance, more slope).
2. I guess this is supposed to be a 5.1 system where the subwoofer gets only LFE content. LFE goes up to 120Hz.
