Hi everyone,

I have connected my iPhone to a Topping D10 DAC, but it looks like music is not played in Hi-Res. The Topping display shows constantly 44.1 PCM.

My chain is:

Iphone 11 > USB camera adapter with powered port > Topping D10 > Integrated amplifier.

In the iPhone Music setup, Audio Quality is set to Hi-Res Lossless for Wi-Fi streaming.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Welcome!

Not an iPhone guy, but my first question is are you sure you are starting with hi-res files?

Solution was providing more power. D10 is hungry.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Since the D10 looks powered on, I just assumed that the power was enough.
I’m using a Lightning to USB3 camera adapter, power is supplied by a 5W USB adapter.
Would it help to have 12W?

It also happened to my iphone SE 2022 (USB lightning) but different problem. DAC is disconnected after a few hours usage. It doesn’t happen on my iPad Pro 4th gen (USB C).

Here’s one I drew in 2021 for someone with a topping d10 and iPhone XR

I also have d10s,and using the same way as you, works fine,iPhone se 2 and iphone12 both fine, and also e50,will auto change sample rate. 10w charger. May be try another adaptor?

And even you change to hi res, there are also many song playing 44.1,have you check the sample rate the song playing ?

Hi,
As some of you have figured out, the problem was the source: I wasn’t actually playing songs with sample rate higher than 44.1… With the “right” songs it works just fine :)

Thanks for your help!

Not that if it’s playing music fine
