I'm looking to buy a second subwoofer, in addition to my SVS SB-1000 Pro, Genelec 8331s and Minidsp Flex with Dirac.
The decision I'm toying with is whether I should get another 1000 Pro or an objectively better subwoofer.
I spent a while looking into subwoofers on the various threads, measurements and the subwoofer comparison sheet and identified the Arendal 1961S as a great option for a better second sub.
Two reasons I'm unsure if it's justified.
1. I listen at low levels, 65-75db. I don't find it's lacking bass, but given the advice on two is better than one I'm intrigued as to the benefits of nicer more even bass.
2. I have a 1 year old baby, so there's a real risk of the speaker getting poked and ruined.
Are any audible improvements expected from there a higher performing sub at low listening levels? Or is this wasted money?
The room is an open plan kitchen / living room 7.5m x 4.5m. Thanks!
