They were one of his original products. They worked excellent but had a very poor wife acceptance factor, he was sad to find out. LOLMy Hsu tubes are the 1220s (but I've seen ads for the taller ones you had).
Here's my ebay sale picture from 2010

Welcome to ASR.Hello there,, feels kinda rude to just register and immediately post stuff before introductions...
My name's Francis and why I don't just use it in the internet I'll never know. I discovered ASR just a couple of months ago while looking up reviews on DAC's and amps and just joined today!

Good to hear from another multich enthusiast.. Unfortunately Qobuz hasn't expanded on their initial 5.1 offerings not withstanding a lot of encouragement by many. But I believe the biggest impedance is the now current interest in Atmos encoded files. Amazon and Tidal are now offering some Atmos and looking into the new Sony 3D system as well. Sadly there exist a number of issues with needing proprietary gear to make it work and other BS. We multich guys remain frustrated over the constant format and encoding wars that rear their ugly heads every time multich begins to gain public interest and demand. And then came the CD. A bit a spoiler as all the cover art went away. My interest turned to video and I collected Laserdiscs. Loved the multichannel 5.1 part and was totally absorbed seeing a high quality video production like Quincy Jone’s & Frank Sinatra‘s LA is my Lady. After I bought my first DVD player in 96, I collected multichannel DVDs and upgraded to a projector and 6 identical boxes, leading to a concert in 3D on 6x48/24 Blu-ray. That was heaven, but the industry did not follow. So I am back to streaming now, have spread 6 Raspis with various DACs across two places, feeding them with Roon, my CDs and Qobuz. Occasionally I search for Multichannel in Qobuz and count to 10 or so. And then I watch Apollo 11 to check on another gone technology.
... Qobuz is not so much to blame, but places like Quello Concerts, that do stream many good music dvds, but only in two channel, not even good old Dolby. What a waste.Good to hear from another multich enthusiast.. Unfortunately Qobuz hasn't expanded on their initial 5.1 offerings not withstanding a lot of encouragement by many. But limited amounts of DVD, SACD, and Blu Ray music continues to be released. Get together with the guys over at https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/
for a start to follow the current action.
IIRC, Atmos files are backward compatible and will fall back to a DD 5.1 base if decoding isn't available.I could live with the Mch base stream without objects and hope for a cracked decoder that would allow stripping that from the Atmos stream
