how passthrough Dolby TrueHD from laptop !

i have many movise with TrueHD in my laptop and conncected to Onkyo TX RZ800 with hdmi 1.4

how to make sure that im plaing TrueHD ?

im using vlc

nothing show up in the receiver screen tell that TrueHD

What AVR are you using?
Are you looking for Atmos or simple 5/7.1 TrueHD?

Dang, I was hoping you'd say Marantz or Denon, those I know.
A cursory view of a online owners manual was little help.
Is there a "Display" button on your from panel, if so that should bring up info for the source on your display.
Also poke around in the On Screen Display options, there should be something there?
Maybe a Onkyo owner can be of more help?
