Possible solution for DTS/Dolby/Atmos+eARC+HDCP to AES/EBU - via Dante? (for Okto DAC8PRO etc)

I'm certainly sticking with my MiniDsp HTx for now.

I'm anticipating the Nuprime-X H16-AES release - it could complement the Okto really well and open a few doors.

If for whatever reason your desired source device only has Optical SPDIF output; could something like the Sonos Optical Audio Adapter (+cable) in one of the Nuprime HDMI inputs be used to achieve Toslink input? Obviously video would be being handled by another device. For the Okto DAC8PRO, this would give it more of the input types available to the DAC8stereo. Complete side-quest, mind.

Yes, should work. The H16 supports HDMI eARC, the Sonos adaper outputs only eARC and is not vendor locked.
Does not work with Meridian HD621: no ARC support.

Hallelujah, I don't use Apple TV anymore because the "reduce loud sounds" setting is actually never off and the audio is better on the Fire TV.

A bold (but very relevant) claim. From my brief searches there used to be a setting called Full Dynamic Range that when on would disable this.

Does that not work? Or is it not there or something?

I only have the second command.
I was hoping that turning it off would completely ignore the audio signal, but many times the volume is low and if I activate the "reduce" command it goes back to normal.
It's like a switch that gets stuck.
The problem, for me, is that some apps have the command available directly, but for many others I have to go into the general preferences.
It's absurd to have to block the app, go to activate/deactivate that setting and go back to the app hoping that the problem has been solved.

H16-AES got listed at 699

This one's quite simple.
This is what we've been waiting for.
The limitations are that rendering is limited to 9.1.4 rather than 9.1.6, there's no Auro3D decoding, and there's no sample rate conversion.
There will also be versions with AoIP and analogue outputs.

The computeraudiophile has a pre-production unit and is working through it.

I am interested in thinking about a future system based on Genelc speakers: sources, projector, Genelec. Something that will save me instead of buying an expensive preamp, its internal DACs and analog connections.

Do you want to use digital or analogue inputs to the speakers?
Look up what kfrancis has been doing.

Definitely multi-channel digital. There are already a thousand times more of these devices on the market that output analog sound, with numerous different DACs glued to the product to ruin the sound quality. For example... all consumer AV devices are of this type.

The interference distance is often pretty bad if there is an analog output.

I would just like to see clarifications and quick updates to the list of products above, which many people would like to consider and evaluate their own needs with future plans in mind, thank you. I myself also look at and think about many variants and their advantages and disadvantages with my eyes sharp.

They also list "HDMI CEC support for seamless device control" on the H16 spec page. So assuming its implementation is not fubar, it can also be used for volume control.

I have my Blustream SW42DA sample rate running at 96k with the rest of my devices on my Dante network. Not sure whether this is the same thing as what you've listed as 48 above?
