How do I run TV audio through a PC or make toppings DX5 use two inputs at once?

Hello.
So I got a TV as a monitor seeing that tvs have come a long way with PC support and chroma sub sampling. I also liked bright HDR for games, so a not so expensive QD90D 4k mini led TV made some sense. As a monitor everything was the same as before where I use my headphones through a toppings DX5 dac-amp to listen, but I'd like to watch some movies on the TV with the integrated OS because streaming services HDR support on PC is bad or in most cases unavailable.

The problem is, if I hook my TV to my DX5 I have to choose the input which I connected to the TV and I loose sound from my PC (PC using optical and TV using BT). I also loose the EQ I have in my PC. Somebody know a way to connect my TV to my PC audio so that I can hear both at the same time and my EQ profile applies? If that's not possible is there a way to connect my TV and PC to the DX5 and reproduce both sources at the same time?

Sorry if my English is bad, not native

Hi CharlyFrost! Welcome to ASR.

Somebody know a way to connect my TV to my PC audio so that I can hear both at the same time
TV->Optical->Hifime UR23->PC->Optical->DX5

Then go into the sound control panel->Recording->UR23->Properties->Listen to this device->Enable

Also make sure that you set the UR23's sample rate to match the TV's output (likely 48kHz), otherwise you'll get choppy playback.

That's what I was going to suggest, or another PC sound device with TosLink input. I think this will limit the audio to 5.1 though happy to be corrected (maybe a non-issue if listening on headphones).

The UR23 can only do Stereo.

Since OP is using a DX5 for playback, I assumed that wasn't an issue.
Yes, stereo is fine. So the TV would see the UR23 as an audio source? If I connect my TV to the PC using optical would it be different?

I think lipsync may also become a bit troublesome with this setup.
Do you think there would be noticeable latency? Would it be better to connect the TV and the PC to the same input on the DX5 somehow?

No. Optical sources (TV, PC) do not "see" optical sinks (DX5, UR23).
It's a one-way data link.

You cannot connect your PC directly to the TV via Optical. Both PC and TV only have Optical out.

The UR23 however has Optical in and bridges that gap.

Would what be different?

That's not possible.

The DX5 cannot mix multiple audio streams. Your PC can.

OK. Thanks for helping and clarifying. I'll buy the the UR23 and hope there isn't that much latency as Berwhale commented.
