Showing my ignorance, I had no idea you all had Thanksgiving this time of year! Happy belated Thanksgiving.

On that picture, it looks amazing! Was it a meal you made or is it stock photo?

I hope my fellow Canadians enjoyed their Thanksgiving. Not sure how I missed seeing this. My turkey didn't look as nice as yours but my apple pie was a hit as was the bottle of Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir

That's a picture I grabbed from the interweb, it's representative of a typical Thanksgiving meal, although it doesn’t show the dressing (stuffing) inside the turkey and buns either. Desert was pumpkin pie and apple pie.

Google will explain why in Canada we have Thanksgiving earlier.

Sadly, having worked with US colleagues during my career I've found there is a significant lack of knowledge regarding Canada and a lack of curiosity/ interest about your neighbour to the north.

How many Americans know that if you are in downtown Detroit and you head due south the first international border you hit is Canada?

Maybe but not me. My wife and I almost bought a second home, a beautiful one story shingle style in the English Bay neighborhood of Vancouver in 1997 listed for ~$400K CAD, ($375 US?). Man not doing that was a big mistake and not just for investment, we could live there. On recent trip a cab driver said that house goes for $2.5 mill. Love that place but don't care for all International Style high-rise buildings of late. First trip was by train from Oakland in1974 as college students and we camped on Pender Island and had the whole place to our selves. On another trip we saw comedian who's joke was; In the US when you get mad at the government you threaten to take your gun and shoot someone and if really mad you might. In Canada if you are mad at the government you write a nasty letter to the government and when you are really mad you write two letters.

Anyway enjoy your Thanksgiving and please never build a wall.

My colleagues in Madison Wisconsin used to say, "you must get a ton of snow up there." I informed them that our office location is pretty much at the same latitude as theirs. Also, our Prime Minister was Pierre Poutine!

My friend in Minnesota says, and it probably true for parts of Canada "There are three seasons up here Winter, mosquitos and construction ".

I refer to him as, "The Prince." LoL

I'm in the prairies and the bugs are not a serious issue like I have heard about other parts. We get nice summers where it cools off at night by ~11pm except for maybe a 2 week period where it gets rip roaring hot. :D Snow is not a major issue because we hardly get any now.

My wife and I spent a July 4th (Independence Day in the United States) in Canada, and were perfectly happy to skip it for a year.

When we got back, a co-worker asked her, completely seriously, "How was their July 4th?"
