Full disclosure; I am the last of a 4 generation family that has been moving fuel and lubricants for a living. We have skin in the game but we also know where the future lies.

The future will include petroleum products. It's ingrained in everything we do and have. Yes, we should do what's best for humanity in the terms of our environment but it's not leaving us totally. I'm all for electrification, alternative energy sources, reduction and re-using and education but I'm a realist I think when looking at the petroleum situation.

The thread is OK. Some big statements are not supported by well established, wide ranging, climate science findings of which there is almost 100 percent consensus

If they could afford petroleum energy think of where they would be. They would have access to clean water and all that we have. The petroleum is not the source of the issue. The issue is they are poor and have no resources or have bad government.
