Just bought Schiit modi, trying to connect Fiio M7 and M9 via usb. I am using usb OTG cord (micro to C) which lables C as host. I get nothing. I plug M9/M7 to Topping NX4 DSD using Fiio CL-06 cord and everything works as should. Confused, Fiio website says these daps may only work with this CL-06 cord, WHY? What is so special about these cords.
I know the OTG cord works with Modi because when i plug LG phone in i get a display on phone saying it is plugged into Schiit Modi.
Any thoughts.

Different pinout on the cable is the most likely explanation. You could also use the line-out (spdif) mode to get the signal to the Modi, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue.
