Well since the Eversolo can't put out audibly better sound, then the Ultra seems a much better choice.Looking at the price tag I'm sticking with my Wiim Ultra.

At a fraction of the price. I also suspect that the WiiM will receive more firmware updates and functionality expansion. But that’s just my opinion.Well since the Eversolo can't put out audibly better sound, then the Ultra seems a much better choice.
I think Eversolo realizes it can't win vs Wiim on the SQ game and UX game. So it's down to functionality and "feel good" factor. Even then on functionality, it is quite arguable that the Wiim UX, firmware update/roadmap, built-in DSP are better than anyone else in the game or at least as good. So that only leaves double sub-out, better build quality, Airplay and a few cosmetic bells and whistles.Well since the Eversolo can't put out audibly better sound, then the Ultra seems a much better choice.
Came here to say the same thing. It has a peculiar young YouTuber gamer headphone enthusiast ring to it I can't support.I don't like the term "endgame".
Absolutely not, unless sub connections are worth €1500 extra to you. Subjective, but it's also way uglier. Mess of different design cues. The EverSolo DMP-A8 now has a firmware update for room correction. With that said, is the A10 really worth the price over the A8?
From what I understand, the room correction on the A8 is EQ / DSP based. So I do not believe each separate speaker is individually impacted. As for the A10 room correction not sure if it is the same or different. Not one review for either's room correction. I just like the A8 because of the way it sounds on my brother's system, they screen, and the other features. Soon I want to do a deep dive into the differences between Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect, Dirac, and the EverSolo room correction,Absolutely not, unless sub connections are worth €1500 extra to you. Subjective, but it's also way uglier. Mess of different design cues.
Still haven't seen any useful examination of the room correction in A10 (or now A8), is it remotely comparable to Dirac or Lyngdorf?
Yes, it's double in total, but try it for real so you can evaluate it properlyThe EverSolo DMP-A8 now has a firmware update for room correction. With that said, is the A10 really worth the price over the A8?
No, and nor will the ears of the deluded youtubers.but would my mere mortal ears actually notice any difference between this and an SHD?
It is exactly what you would expect from an expensive high-end car. Precise, detailed sound, first-rate construction and worthy remote control supplied, very nice and right in weight. A8 is a good car, had previously, but with A10 we are on another level. Even when used as a simple player, with an external DAC, the USB is definitely better than that of the A8.Does anybody have one of these? What's it like? I'm torn between this, the A8 or a MiniDSP SHD. Youtubers like to talk about how they can hear minute audible differences, but would my mere mortal ears actually notice any difference between this and an SHD? The a8 looks good but the lack of being able to add subs...
How can the USB be 'better' if it's still outputting a digital signal? Or are you saying the USB-out on the a8 is flawed? It is exactly what you would expect from an expensive high-end car. Obviously this is my personal opinion, listening and checking the construction consistency of the device is worth more than any other words.
I have not had the opportunity to try the SFP Fiber Optic Network interface. I would like to point out that the subwoofer function is only available for PCM signals lower than 192KHz.
