Got this email today from Elac

In recent months, the cost for us to get our products to you has increased 400 - 500%.

On August 15th at 12:01 am EST, we will be raising our prices on all of our speakers. Until then, you will be able to purchase our products online or at a retailer at its current cost.

After months of hope that the significant price increases in freight delivery would go back down to normal levels, it appears the situation continues to only get worse. As it stands, we can no longer afford this price increase internally.

To maintain the quality of sound that we are known for, we will be raising our prices by an average of 15%.

Thank you for your understanding, and your continued support of ELAC during this uncharted time.

...ELAC during this uncharted time...

At least they didn't say "unprecedented".

Andrew Jones has bailed out, their prices are about to skyrocket, let's see what happens to "Elac". Yawn.

Maybe they should go back to making turntables?

Just to understand their reasons try to search sea shipment prices before covid and now. They are tripled if I remember correctly.
Elac cheap series made in China, high line in Germany, so anyway sea shipment is mandatory.
It's strange that they kept their prices so long.
