Hi,

I have some questions regarding my old amps from 2005, they are from a company in Norway and are now out of business unfortenetly.

I have a few of there amps and i love them, some needs repair and is not easy to find now days.

i just wonder if anyone that understand better then me there specs and give me there opinion regarding there specs, i have tried a few other poweramps but none of them are as silent as my old Dynamic precision, i have horn speakers (jbl) and the hiss noise is very audible with most other amps.

I realy like this forum, i have learned so much and thank you Amir for founding ASR.

Have you tried the state of the art amplifiers? Purifi, Benchmark, Topping and some others have amplifiers that have pretty much no noise.

PA amps, as in pro use? Surprising (in a very good way) that they are so quiet especially with that power.
I'm no help to you I'm afraid, just interested. Perhaps @restorer-john knows these?
Good luck with the repairs!

Then again, from the specs, this looks like an excellent amp, not far removed from those state-of-art amps at all. If the amp has some sentimental value, it may be worth fixing it up.

True, but I was commenting on the fact that he found other amplfiers not as quiet.

Yes, correct they are PA amps. but built the same way as there hifi amps, just added fans to them and speakon connectors and opened them up in the front panel to add better cooling. and the way i use them fan only start when once and a while when put under very heavy load.

Thank you for your comments, i will have them fixed/upgraded but must get them shipped to Norway when i can afford it.

Hello Sir, which country are you based in?

There are two workshops in Norway who provide support for dynamic precision amplifiers. One is held by a person name RJEL, he was working together with Leif back in their days. He is currently building some new versions of Dynamic Precision amplifiers, very excited to see those!

The other shop is named service kompaniet based in Oslo.

I too have a PA400 and it works great! Tight control in the dynamics for sure and definitely lives up to its rumors.

Normally the startup relay will take its toll with the years. The same with the capacitors. Most of the amp uses ELNA caps from Japan. But the size and amount may differ depending on your device and serial number.

Wish you all a nice weekend! And have a

Hi, i am located in Sweden, alot op DP amps ended up here in Sweden, I have talked to Rune (rjel) to have my PA 402 amps fixed/upgraded and also my older dp pa 1000h and pa 500h that I use for the moment, still saving money to have them fixed/upgraded. Have a few other dp amps that I also want to have some maintenance/upgrade later on.

Thats great! From experience RJEL is quite thorough in his work, so you will be pleased if let him do service on it.

You could potentially try to find an old timer in Sweden who has done service on devices like these in the past. Old timers has this gift where the electronics just talks to them and could at least potentially assess what work is needed on the amps you have.

However, since they are quite heavy 40kg pluss units, they might say no.

Have a great weekend!

That is what I wish, having stuff send to Norway now days is terrible, (you are lucky to be outside the terrible EU) makes it more complicated, and since I want to send 3x ps402 makes it even makes it more complicated, as a private person, (post Nord) will not do it. Have to ask some other shipping company. Or find some friend who's company have some Shipping service to Norway, i would drive my self if it was not that far. Have a nice weekend ☀️
