Do gain switches change output impedance?

Such as in portable DAC/amps TEAC HA-P50 and Sony PHA-1? High gain have higher output impedance?

If older headphones were expected to be used with somewhat high output impedance, don't they sound their best if not using modern ultra low OI sources? Like they were designed in mind to be used with at least 10 ohm OI.

I would think the gain switch changes the input gain. As such it should not change the outpu impedance. There may be a secondary effect with the feedback loop but that should not make a large difference.

I can measure it and report back. :)

Gain switches or jumpers can change the output impedance.

In the case of my DAC, there are jumpers for the XLR (line) outputs that come after the circuitry, and add to the output impedance:

However, the pads for the headphone attenuate the input to the headphone amplifier, and do not change the output impedance:

It's OK.. I think I may have asked this question before, actually. I realized once I posted, that I'd had the thought before, just my memory is a bit bad.
