Concert photos

Hey!
Doesn't anyone go to Classical Music Concerts? Lots of old (enough) geezers roaming ASR, and still no classical music lovers.
Here is a Gil Shaham concert in London, we went to a few years back.
Pictures taken with my humble few year old, Huawei phone. We were in the first few rows, so I believe I used the wide lens, hence some distortions at edges..

All female Black Sabbath cover band. They were great!
Personally speaking and w/o any disrespect; I abhor the whole concept of cover/tribute bands, in rock-n-roll.
Yeah, okay! I admit I am a hypocrite:oops::
I'll admit to enjoying different "versions" of some songs made famous by the original creators/artists.

Decades back, I saw too many cover bands f*ck-up too many great songs, so bad, that... never again!
ummmm... I think the last one was a cover-band doing David Bowie's "Suffragette City", at some Joisey pub. The singer started saying "suffocate city" and 6 of us sitting at a table, all looked at each other. [factoid: original song repeats the word "suffragette" 16+ times] By the time that singer was about to say 'suffocate" for the eighth-time, we all got up in unison and walked out of the pub.
Bang!

Nia Archives, O2 Brixton Academy 8th November, 2024 - This was a birthday present from my daughter who went with me. I haven't been to the Brixton Academy for 30 years. The last time was to see Therapy? (there's a video of that gig at the bottom of this post). 30 years ago, I had to walk the last mile to the gig because the roads were blocked by a march protesting against police brutality. I emerged from the gig to a riot, there were skips that had been set alight, cars had been turned over and police everywhere. Luckily, we made it out of the disaster zone and met my mate's girlfriend who drove us back to Brighton, where I lived at the time. I was somewhat reticent about going back to Brixton (and I grew up in SE London!), but he Nia Archives gig was great, it was really well organized and everyone was really well behaved :)

Therapy? - Brixton Academy 1994:

Love me some Warren but I have to say that Mule's new bass player really stole the show tonight. Think Lesh and Porter combined.

This was probably the best I've ever heard Gov't Mule sound.

I still have tinnitus from one of their Ryman shows many years ago...

Andrew Duhon tonight at Carrollton Station. Hell of a show by a great band led by a talented songwriter.

Goose
Goosemas - Charleston, SC - Dec. 14, 2024
Have you seen the Goose Statues all over Goose Creek, South Carolina (just outside of Charleston, SC). It's interesting, the geese statues change attire with holidays and other events.

Ha! Alas, I did not.

I saw one that I had not seen before today. Apparently whomever is assigned to decorate them is someone at or near where each Goose is. Their decorations for different holidays & events are not a "one size fits all proposition. Each one may be themed the same but be completely different or the may all be essentially the same or they may be similar, yet different.

I spent about 3 months every 3-4 years in my born (in March 8 of 1957) town of Salzburg Austria when I was growing up. The 9 trips that I made when I was younger included having to go to symphonic concerts & operas. I have been to some orchestral events since then in other places. While I would go (I'm hoping to never go to another opera) if invited, there is no way that I would willingly drop any money into going to a symphony.
