Hi all

I am currently running a 3.1 setup

Yamaha A2A set to 8 ohm speakers set to small and crossover at 80hz

L/R front: KEF Q7 meta (4 ohm)
Center: Klipsch rp404c ii (8 ohm)
Sub: KEF KC62

Room size is 20m2 (200 square feet if i am correct)

I would like to add 2 KEF Q8 meta as surround speakers (about 2,1m high and 2,5m from the listening position at 90 degrees (no option to get my sofa from the wall, and do not want big surround speakers at ear level on de side of my sofa blasting directly into the ear of the person sitting next to the surround and not sitting in the best listening position so the down angle of the Q8 meta placed a a bit higher on the side walls seems like a good compromise )

and I would like to replace my center speaker with the Q6 meta

both the Q6 and Q8 are 4 ohm (min 3,2)

De A2A manual says i can use 4-8 ohm for Front L/R but 6-8 ohm for center and surrounds.

will the A2A be able to drive the Q6 and Q8's ?

I understand setting all speakers to small and crossover set to 80hz the sub takes a lot of stress away from the amp?

Thanks for any replies

It should be, it's 100W @ 8 Ohms two chenel driven. Sensitivity is about 88 dB and min impedance 3.3 Ohms (at least they didn't rate them 8 Ohms...). However you should cross them at 90 Hz to easy the amplifier burden (lower the compression and impact of drive Fs). Evolution is based on smaller brother with same woofers as KEF own one's used on Spinorama are nowhere to be found (and I don't trust them anyway).
Edit: Welcome to ASR and have fun!

Thx for you reply , i will change the cross over point

What do you mean by lower the compression ?

Scroll down to: Dynamic Range (Instantaneous Compression Test) in review it's really self explanatory.

Thank you very much , im going te read that and learn a thing or 2
