Bose SoundLink Color II vs. JBL Charge 3

Playing around with REW and Equalizer APO. I'm not too familiar with these, but I didn't differ the steps much between the Bose and the JBL. For some reason the JBL would EQ, but the Bose wouldn't get much in terms of changes. All I would do to switch between them is replace JBL with BOSE filters in APO, unplug JBL and plug in Bose (through analog input, same cable), and run the REW measurement. Reversing the steps and trying the JBL again would work so I think the APO filters were taking effect. I eventually tried only a single aggressive high pass filter on the Bose, and that worked.

Could Bose be doing something to counteract the changes, or am I screwing up somewhere?
