R.L. Burnside, a song I got to know from the Sopranos soundtrack. A little bit of Hip-Hop technique applied to the blues:

The CD and streaming version, unlike many of Dinah Washington's older recordings really sounds good. Performance is great as well.

Or this great example of the blues influencing African pop
Yes, and Ali Farka is just the tip of the iceberg in that he achieved some recognition in the wider world. There is just so much mindmeltingly brilliant music to come out of Africa since the 1950s that has rarely been heard in the west. But the relationship with American blues is complicated. When Tinariwen first became known outside Africa I seem to remember thay claimed one of their biggest influences was Dire Straits … ;-)

Ma Rainey and Beethoven once unwrapped a bedroll
Tuba players now rehearse around the flagpole

And yet the walkin' bass lines in blues are shared with Baroque music

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - supposedly B.B. King said about Peter Green "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats"

John Bonamassa

or
Gary Moore is a worthy Blues musicians.

I see Albert Collins has been listed. Had the pleasure of seeing him play on three ocassions. His in person showmanship with the audience doesn't fully come thru on audio recordings. He seemed to be enjoying himself so much you felt obligated to do the same.

Get the masters series from Rory Block, those give you a high quality modern recordings of old country blues in it's purest form.
Further i could recommend ol the older material John Lee Hooker Sister Odetta Sister Rosa Tharpe Allthough it'a bit more gospel
