‘66 Lambretta SX200
That Lambretta is a long term keeper.
I'd do something on the will to ensure it goes with me when I die. :p

No not really, all your conclusions seem spot on.
If your tall enough to ride and handle a f800, go for it, just make sure you get a good price buying it so you can bail-out without getting hurt if you ever want to sell it. ;)
Good Luck

Ended up getting a deal on an r1200gs. Taking it on a trip to Algonquin Park in 10 days to test it out.

Picked this up a couple months ago as new old stock. Got it for about 50% msrp. Dealership was liquidating all old bikes to buy 2021's.
I actually met my riding group of people through audio meetups.

I was riding a 2009 ninja 650r prior to this, so a small upgrade.

Ah, a Beemer boxer, very kool bike.
Lot's of torque there, take a lot of time getting to know the power curve, she'll wheelie in the blink of an eye if you disrespect the throttle. o_O Be safe and enjoy.
The shiny side goes up. ;)

That KTM is so sexy looking.
Yeh, a big step up from your UJM (Universal Japanese Motorcycle).
Good luck with that beauty.

That KTM is making me jealous. I was obligated to buy my wife a bike before I bought another one. She ended up with a Kawasaki Vulcan S ce.

'98 VFR. Been riding since I was a youngster-always had a mini bike and then motorcycles. Earplugs are a necessity with a loud pipe like mine.

Electric bikes are certainly appealing for the stealth factor. Nothing says "I'm speeding" like a screaming sport bike approaching. However I do love the screaming symphony of thrashing metal. Their not great for retaining hearing though, the wind noise in particular is savage.
Stealthy? Heck yeah. When I was in Beijing, China in '18 I was almost run down about a million times by "stealthy" electric mini-bikes that are ubiquitous in that city and other Chinese cities.

Traffic is insane in Beijing and respect for traffic rules essentially non-extent. Of course it's huge threat to pedestrians not to mention vehicle drivers. I found the biggest threat to the formers wasn't the taxis, etc., but these effing electric mini-bikes, (especially when driven on the sidewalks): you can't hear them coming over the ambient noise level so constant attention is necessary to avoid being run down.

Power bikes from the past is my cup of tea. This has the look but is a 2003 model. Have had it for 9 years and see little reason to replace it. Both me and the bike being oldish mean reasonable insurance in Sweden. Can otherwise be expensive.

The ferry in the background looks like the one we took in 2001 between Skår and Finnsbo (near Lysekil, Swedish west coast). Our bikes had no machine though, power was limited to what the driver could supply - hence this posting is OT.

Yamaha R1, Triumph Street Triple R, BMW F800ST and several Suzuki GS500s as winter hacks. No car. I live in the city centre (Edinburgh) and would lose my mind if I had to sit in traffic in a car!
Only downside is city centre garages are expensive, so aside from the GS500, my bikes are stored 3 miles away.

2006 Ducati GT1000 from the short-lived Sport Classic series. The Sport model was a lot sexier, but a lot less comfortable for someone my age, especially in the city of Sydney where I was at the time. Ducati have always had a good market in Australia.

Here are my scooters from the past. In the order of when I owned them. They are all in the correct colors and model years as in the same as what I owned.

Prior to BMW. WTF. Who said you can't tour on sportsbikes....wobbly diy luggage mounts were definitely flexing passing 911 Porsches on autobahns. Splendid.
