Advice to usb to optical SPDIF converter

Hello,

I have need for a sub to SPDIF converter and more particularly optical SPDIF.
On ebay for 34€ I can get this kind of converter :

Based on xmos xu208. With a good DAC , even a average spdif source can be used,right ?
It's why there is no tests about this kind of converter on ASR ?

Do you know chipper and still OK device for this stuff ?

The DAC is a Lavry DA11 (http://www.lavryengineering.com/wiki/index.php/DA11 )
The amp is a old Yamaha PC2002 ( https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/yamaha/pc2002.shtml )
Speaker are JBL 4430 ( https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/jbl/4430.shtml )
